For a wonderfully loving family in Amsterdam with two adorable children, we are seeking an English-speaking nanny who is available (for a minimum of 1 year) to provide care.
About the family:
We are a sporty family consisting of a father, mother, and 2 children (Lotus, 8, and Lewis, 6) living in the Jordaan area of Amsterdam. We are from the Netherlands, love to travel, and enjoy a variety of activities such as sports, skiing, traveling, and chess. Lotus is the oldest, an incredibly sweet and bright girl who excels in school and is very social. She enjoys gymnastics, dancing, and drawing. Lewis is her younger brother, also very sociable and fond of cuddling, although he may be a bit less eager to listen compared to his sister. Lewis is a chess prodigy and could play all day if he could. We are currently building a house in Norway, so we frequently travel there, and Balder (the father) often has work-related travel, which is why flexibility is important to us.
Working days/times*:
Monday: 15:00 – 18:00
Tuesday: occasional evenings
Wednesday: 12:30 – 18:00
Thursday: 14:00 – 19:30
Friday: 15:00 – 18:00
Weekend: occasional
*Hours are flexible due to the parents’ variable work schedules
The family is looking for a person who:
Is positive, enthusiastic, and proactive.
Is available for at least one year.
Speaks fluent English.
Is at least 25 years old.
Is kind and helpful.
Must learn English, preferably in a playful manner.
Engages in active and creative activities, organizing fun after-school activities with friends.
Can assist with the children’s schoolwork.
Can pick up the children from school, engage them in educational and creative activities.
Can handle light household tasks, grocery shopping, and occasionally preparing meals.
Can prepare the children’s belongings (activity bags for school, gym, hockey, etc.).
Has a driver’s license.
What do we offer?
A wonderful family atmosphere with lovely children. Compensation based on age and experience. Option: Employment status and additional hours through personal assistant/office tasks for the mother’s business.
